Now let me tell you, I have quite a hard time finding shorts that fit me or ones that are not incredibly too short. I decided a while back that I would buy an old pair of jeans and make my own, but I've been putting it off until the AZ weather got too unbearable to keep wearing jeans. So I went to Savers and found a $7 dollar pair of jeans, a couple sizes bigger than I would normally wear, and spent an hour or two sewing and cutting and making them into some fun new summer shorts. Here is what I came up with!

After:
I added some fun stitching on the back pocket
and on the front
and I even added some fun buttons (of course, it's me we're talking about)

I'm still working on the length and fraying a little bit, but I'm pretty happy with how they turned out!

My other project was a couple of bows for my hair : ]
This is a scarf that I got at Savers for $2
And this is what I made it into:

Here is another tiny bow that I made out of some old fabric scraps from another scarf that I purchased at Savers.
Yay for turning old things into new treasures!
